Hi, I’m Laurie Hrdina Shepherd.
I’m an illustrator living in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy illustrating quirky heart-warming stories, sparkling with magic and giggles. I also illustrate autobiographical moments in motherhood. You can find these under ‘Mother’s Illustrations.’
When I am not illustrating, surrounded by my beloved cats and snakes, I am wandering the mossy woods with my family, wondering what worlds lie within the patches of moss on top of rotting fence posts.
I always have a big stack of beautiful picture books on my desk to inspire me. A few of my favorites are: The Curious Little Witch series by Lieve Baeten, and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. As a child, my favorites were The BFG and Ruby the Copycat.
